United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU)

United Forum of Bank Unions, is an umbrella of nine unions . UFBU comprises of All India Bank Employees Association, (AIBEA), All India Bank Officers Confederation (AIBOC), National Confederation of Bank Employees (NCBE), All India Bank Officers Association (AIBOA), Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI), Indian National Bank Employees Congress (INBEC), Indian National Bank Officers Congress (INBOC), National Organisation of Bank Workers (NOBW) and National Organisation of Bank Officers (NOBO).

AIBOC has, during the last 25 years, been fostering fraternal relationships with all the sister trade unions in the Banking Industry. It is pertinent to point out at the moment that it was AIBOC that spearheaded the Pension agitation of the early 1990’s, which later paved the way for the Pension agreement being signed in 1993. It was also AIBOC, which took the initiative to form the umbrella organization of all the unions in the Banking Industry, UFBU, so that a united front could be evolved in the fight for common cause. From the 1997 wage negotiations onwards, UFBU, representing the entire workforce in the Banking Industry, has been in the forefront of clinching more and more benefits for the officers and employees in the Industry. It is worthwhile to remember that it was AIBOC, which had formed a panel of eminent economists in the country and published a report on an alternate Banking Policy in the light of the Liberalisation policies followed by the Government. It gives us immense pride that we are also part of this mighty organization.
